Bird view visual explanations of different places
I started sketching bird views of different places on iPad after reading her book 銭湯図解 (meaning illustrated explanation of sento, the public bath in Japan). Enya Honami (塩谷歩波) has a lot of amazing vivid works of the whole pictures of various sento in details, making me want to have my own collection beginning with the hotel rooms I have stayed before, followed by coffee shops, transports and train stations later on.
A whole picture is more than thousands of words!
We are animals who needs thorough understanding via, not only words, but also visual elements because languages have their own limitations and a picture is always more than thousands of words.
Even though those sketches are personal, the bird view visual explanation can be made use of explaining history and enhancing business values. On one hand it can give us the whole picture, on the other hand audiences can stay for a long time to read very detail when they are enjoying the illustrations.
